It was. I couldn't tell at first what I had on. With the current and the size of the fish I'm glad I brought the 8wt. The fish looks really big in the picture but I measured the girth and length. She was about 4lbs.
Howard, yes they are but I have to admit these last few caught themselves. I wish I could say I used some awesome master fly fisherman technique. The fish hit the fly a few seconds after it hit the water and hung themselves.
She is a pig! That must have been a gas on the old flyrod.
