Eno Jewels

Yesterday I hit the Eno to get some time on the water and try out a 7wt I haven't fished. The water was low and clear but the fish were very eager. Caught a few sunfish and one rare Roanoke Bass.

It was a great day and I was happy to find fish in spite of all the swimmers.

  1. Yippee! I'm so happy someone in our little fraternity is getting out. Isn't a 7wt. a little overkill? ;)

    1. Yes, major overkill. I was hoping to hook up with some of the bass I saw. They would have given it a good tug.

  2. Did you catch the bass on that popper? I'm still figuring out what they'll take, especially among my topwater options.

I had some nice luck on the Eno this morning with a frog imitation popper, and also had some bites yesterday on a stealth bomber. I'm not sure if that's an evergreen thing, or just because the water is so low.
