Grouper Eats Shark

So would a grouper eat a little kid or small adult just as easily?

  1. Over the years, I did a lot of skin diving. I've seen some really big Groupers. Many easily that size.

  2. I decided after seeing my first large tarpon that I would never fish for anything that could swallow me whole!+

  3. I've swum with groupers as big as cars. They seemed to be quite accommodating letting me join the shoal and respecting my space as if I was one of them. That's why I hate spear fishers who go after these fish, which couldn't be easier to kill than if they were in a tank with nowhere to go.

    1. You're a brave man. I'd be cautious the whole time. I'd never want to kill a group just for the sport. Grouper is pretty good with french fries though.

    1. I can't. I don't see how you would. You'd need a hoist or a crane to get it into the boat. If you tried tying it to the side sharks would probably eat it before you made it to the dock.

  5. That was a crazy video. I've heard stories of Goliath Groupers doing this to scuba divers...not engulfing them, but grabbing a limb and pulling them down. I have also heard of people going out to wrestle with these giants, like noodling for catfish, because, they don't have teeth.
