If you can present them correctly (the fish have to be shallow enough) streamers work better than anything you could do with conventional tackle in cold water, something about the slow rate of fall that streamers have is perfect for sluggish bass. If you downsize to nymphs, bluegill and crappies should cooperate too. Tight lines!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10413627303368141317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7148053610537598768.post-79592501304602377672014-02-28T09:37:33.793-08:002014-02-28T09:37:33.793-08:00That's really a great idea! That would definitely make a great rod to lend to friends or some of my cousins to try and get them into fly fishing.CARFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08593449506895654252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7148053610537598768.post-44698044106944708812014-02-26T04:47:04.290-08:002014-02-26T04:47:04.290-08:00Mel, I already had a 5wt reel with WF line that I ...Mel, I already had a 5wt reel with WF line that I used with my Redington Pursuit. That seems to work fine. I'm planning on getting a reel specifically for this. I've been following some old Pfluegers on Ebay but I might just settle for a cheap Eagle Claw reel from Wally World. I'm also going to buy one of the Scientific Angler 2nd lines that are $10-$15. In the end I won't have more than $60 in the whole setup.Feather Chuckerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17816824282816730471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7148053610537598768.post-35436155409348295112014-02-25T19:01:58.936-08:002014-02-25T19:01:58.936-08:00Good to see you put that new Featherlight too work...Good to see you put that new Featherlight too work this quickly. $25.00 and a handful of Bass later.
