Dependable Gills

Life has been lackadaisical lately. I've fished a few times but the catching wasn't good. Thank goodness for gills. I snuck out today and hit my favorite gill spot.

  1. You're lucky Kev, my favorite gill place is 10 feet under water. Oh wait...

    1. I caught some on top and some down on the bottom. I'm not sure if I missed the spawn or if they're just getting started. They weren't super aggressive a lot of my hits came from leaving the fly on the water for at least 15-20seconds or drudging the bottom. It was hard catching them subsurface some managed to hit the fly really hard and not hook themselves. Not sure how they were able to do that.

I would guess they are just on the verge of spawning---here on Walker Lake in Jasper they are getting started. I haven't landed any big bulls yet on Walker Lake, my new post will explain.
